Jayce looks oppressive in lane, and his poke is, but the whole act falls apart once someone closes the gap and survives the first hit. He is squishy, his big damage is gated behind landing the Acceleration Gate plus Shock Blast combo, and his only real escape is the Thundering Blow knockback and a short To the Skies leap, neither of which is a true dash to safety. If you can eat the poke, shrug it off, or stick to him through the knockback, he has very little left. Champions who out sustain his harassment, who are too durable to be chunked by it, or who simply walk through it and force an all in tend to ruin his lane.
