Her Burst Fire is short ranged for a marksman, so she has to walk up into danger to deal her damage, and she is mana hungry and genuinely weak in the early game before her speed and overcharge come online. Her only reach and her only slow live on Ultrashock Laser, her long range skillshot, and she has no hard crowd control of her own to fall back on. The way to beat Zeri is to out range and out poke her while she is fragile, or to lock her down, because all of her safety is movement and any root, stun, or snare turns her into a normal squishy carry.
