Vladimir has a glaring early game weakness: he is slow, low on mobility, and genuinely weak until he stacks items, so a champion that bullies him before he scales can keep him down for the whole game. Crucially he has no hard crowd control of any kind, no dash, no gap closer, and no tether, just Sanguine Pool, which makes him untargetable for a couple of seconds but then drops him out slow and on cooldown. The way to beat Vladimir is to out sustain or out poke his health costs early, force out his pool and punish him in the window after it ends, or pin him with a stun or a suppress that his kit simply cannot answer.
