Rumble looks oppressive, and in melee range he is, but he hides a few real holes. His main damage, Flamespitter, is a short cone you have to stand close to land, and he has no dash and no hard crowd control, just the slows on Electro Harpoon and his ultimate. His only safety is the speed boost on Scrap Shield, so anyone who out-ranges him can chip him down before he ever gets to burn them. Worst of all is his Heat bar: push it past 100 and he overheats, which leaves him silenced and unable to cast for several seconds, the perfect window to jump him. To beat Rumble, poke from outside his Flamespitter range, bait out his overheat, and punish the fact that he cannot escape a hard engage. When you pick him, you are accepting that ranged bullies and slippery targets will kite your short range, so you want to fight where your Equalizer controls the ground.
