His whole game is poking with Razor Shuriken, setting up a Living Shadow clone so his shurikens and Shadow Slash hit from two angles at once, then leaping in with Death Mark to stack a delayed bomb that detonates for a chunk of everything he just did. He has no mana to worry about and no hard crowd control, just raw damage, the slow on his E, and the slipperiness of swapping places with his shadow. If you like Zed, look for melee burst assassins who jump on a single squishy, delete them, and use mobility to get back out. The poke mages and the patient scaling carries are a totally different rhythm.
