Fizz looks unkillable when his Playful / Trickster hop is up, because that pole-vault makes him untargetable and lets him dodge any targeted spell or skillshot aimed at him. The catch is that the hop is his only real defensive tool, and it is on a meaningful cooldown. Bait it or wait it out and Fizz is just a short range melee assassin with no escape, easy to lock down and burst back. He also has to walk into melee range to do anything, so ranged poke chips him down before he can ever commit, and his Chum the Waters shark can be sidestepped or dodged by mobile targets. To beat Fizz, bring hard crowd control that lands the moment his E is down, out-sustain his burst so his all-in fizzles, or simply out-trade him early before he has the items to one-shot.
