Yorick is a relentless split pusher, but the whole package is slow and grounded. He has no dash and no gap closer, so his only ways to stick to you are Mourning Mist, the slow he throws to mark you and call his ghouls in, and Dark Procession, the ring of spirits he drops to wall you in. Both can be played around: dodge the mist or break a section of the cage wall and he loses his grip. He also leans hard on his ghouls and the Maiden, so champions who clear that army with area damage, or who are mobile enough to dash through it, strip away most of his pressure. The way to beat Yorick is to out range his poke, refuse to brawl inside his cage, and punish how immobile he is, while anything that has to sit still and trade in melee usually feeds his sustain. When you pick him, you are accepting that slippery and ranged enemies will dance around you, so you want matchups that are forced to fight on your terms.
