Tryndamere is terrifying once he is on top of you, but his whole game is held together by a few thin threads. His only mobility is Spinning Slash, a single dash on a cooldown, and his only crowd control is the slow on Mocking Shout, which only really bites enemies who are running away from him. He has no gap closer beyond that one spin, so anything that can kite him, blind him, or simply refuse to let him auto-attack turns him off completely. Undying Rage saves him for five seconds, but the moment it ends he is just a melee champion with no shields and no escape, and a smart opponent waits it out and kills him on the back end. To beat Tryndamere, deny his autos, punish the window after his ultimate fades, and never give him a clean target to spin onto.
