Shaco is terrifying when his tricks land, but he is fragile and snowball dependent, and the cracks show when his early plays do not work. His Deceive blink is a short hop, not a true escape, his Jack in the Box fear has to be set up in advance, and once he is revealed and locked down he is a squishy melee with very little health. Champions who can reveal his stealth, stick to him through the blink, or simply out-duel him in a straight fight give him real problems, and so do durable targets he cannot burst before they fight back. He also falls off if the game goes long and his single-target burst stops one-shotting fed carries. When you pick Shaco, you are betting on early chaos, so respect anyone who can survive your opening combo and punish you the moment your tricks run dry.
