Rengar is terrifying when he gets the jump, but his whole pattern is fragile. His leap only happens from brush or during his Thrill of the Hunt ultimate, so without a bush nearby and off his ultimate he is just a melee bruiser walking at you. He is an all in burst assassin with thin defenses, so if his combo does not kill, he is in deep trouble. Pink wards and control over the brush turn off his engage entirely, and any hard crowd control catches him mid leap and ends the fight before it starts. The cleanse on his empowered Battle Roar helps against slows and roots, but a stun or taunt at the right moment still locks him down. Champions who do not melt to a single combo, who punish him when he commits, or who simply out duel him in a straight skirmish give him real trouble.
