Mordekaiser is terrifying once he gets his hands on you, but the whole package has the classic juggernaut hole: no dash and no escape. His only way to close distance is Death's Grasp, a fairly slow pull on a long cooldown, so if you can keep him at range he simply cannot do his job. His ultimate, Realm of Death, is a coin flip when he uses it on someone who beats him one on one, because once the duel starts he is locked in there too. To beat Mordekaiser, poke him down from range before he ramps Darkness Rise, sidestep or out trade his pull, and avoid getting caught in a bad R at level six. Champions who out range him, out tank his sustained magic damage, or simply win the isolated duel his ultimate creates give him real trouble. When you pick Mordekaiser, you are accepting that ranged zoners and tanks who do not fear his one on one will frustrate you, so you want matchups that are forced to fight you up close.
