Kayn has one glaring weakness baked into his whole design: he is weak until he transforms. Before he picks Rhaast or the Shadow Assassin he is a squishy jungler with a clunky clear, so an aggressive early jungle that invades him and beats him up in those first minutes can keep him from ever reaching the form that makes him scary. Even after that, his big threats are telegraphed. Reaping Slash is a short dash, Blade's Reach is a slow, thin line knockup that good players sidestep, and Umbral Trespass needs him to actually land damage and dive in first.
