His long range Deadly Flourish only roots targets that are already marked, recently hit by an ally, or caught in one of his lotus traps, so on its own it is just damage and his lockdown can be denied. To beat Jhin, catch him mid reload, dive him while he is stuck on the ground, or simply out sustain and out scale the patient sniper who needs a clean window to do work.
