Irelia is a nightmare once she gets rolling, but she has clear holes. Her dash, Bladesurge, can only chase enemy champions she has already marked or low health minions, so if you deny her marks and keep the wave away she loses most of her mobility. She is also weak and squishy early before she stacks her Fervor passive and finds items, which makes the first few levels a real window to bully her. The way to beat Irelia is to lock her down with hard crowd control that her dashes cannot dodge, out-trade her early before her stacks come online, or out-durable her so her burst simply runs out. Tanks who stack armor and survive her full combo, and ranged threats who can punish her from outside her reach, give her the most trouble.
