To keep his bonus damage rolling he has to stand near where his Spinning Axe will land and catch it, so good poke forces an ugly choice between his health and his axe. He has no dash, only the speed burst from Blood Rush, and his only piece of crowd control is Stand Aside, a short skillshot that knocks you aside and slows. His ultimate, Whirling Death, is a global execute, but in lane the way to beat him is to deny his snowball: out range him, win the trades when he is busy chasing an axe, and dive him when he has nothing to escape with. If he falls behind, his bounty stacks dry up and he stops being a problem, so anything that survives his early aggression flips the matchup.
