Ahri is slippery, but everything she does is gated behind landing Charm, a fairly thin skillshot that she has to hit to start a real combo. Miss it and she is a squishy mage with no hard crowd control and her threat falls apart. Her safety lives almost entirely in Spirit Rush, so once those dashes are down she has no escape, and a champion that can lock her in or out-trade her in that window punishes her hard. She also has to walk up to a dangerous range to land her full burst, which means anyone who out-ranges her, sits behind a wall of damage, or is simply too tanky to kill makes her work miserable. To beat Ahri, dodge or bait the charm, force her ultimate, then close in before it comes back, or just refuse to die to her burst at all. When you pick Ahri, you are betting you can land that charm from safety and dash away clean, so respect zoning, heavy crowd control, and targets you cannot one-shot.
